Pacific Hotel Shiroishi

The price seemed fair for the location and room type, and the staff were great. The room was pleasant, and the facilities we used were fine. There's a restaurant that looked good, but we didn't eat there, so I can't say how it is. The Pacific Hotel in Shiroishi is practically attached to the station, which is very convenient for a short trip. The downside is that passing trains can wake you. I understand there's more to do around Shiroish Zao station; this area felt a little short on places to go in the evening. Still, I'd recommend it to people visiting the area.

A heads-up about the fridge: in most hotels where the room's power depends on your key card, it runs on a separate circuit. Here it doesn't. Otherwise, it's a standard Japanese business hotel, handy if you're staying in Shiroishi because it's right beside the train station. That's Shiroishi Station, not Shiroishi Zao station where the Shinkansen stops. The buffet breakfast was okay, nothing special.

It's close to the train station, and the service was good. The room is small but packed with facilities, and breakfast was nice.

Clean, inexpensive, and close to the station, so I recommend this hotel. The front desk staff are polite, and I get the sense they're enthusiastic about their jobs. One young man in particular, with white hair and a crew cut, seemed very serious. Lin&Lee
