The room was spotlessly clean.

Completely unacceptable.

I stayed here to treat my elderly dogs, who make me happy every day even though I’m usually away from home. The room was pleasant too, and we all had a great time. On the morning we left, we took the dogs to the dog run and got lots of lovely photos of them happily running around. The staff’s thoughtfulness really stood out: the lawn was well kept, there were benches, and there was a place to sit and wash their paws after play. A friendly mascot cat (?) also joined me for my morning smoke. The front desk gave us useful souvenir suggestions. We bought olive oil, garlic oil, lotion, basil oil, and salted olives from Inoue Seikoen, fresh somen noodles from Ginshiro, salt from Furusato Mura, and dashi soy sauce from Kinryo. Thanks to everyone for being so kind, including seeing us off when we departed. I’d like to stay with you again on my next visit to Shodoshima, and I’m already looking forward to it.

We were very pleased with what we got for the price, and will definitely come back. Our cottage sat at the top of a hill above an olive grove in a tourist area, with a great view of the groves and a small island. The blue and white exterior had a nice seaside feel. Inside, it was an old building that had been refurbished beautifully, and the staff had clearly put thought into the place. For the reasonable price, it was more than enough. We picked the barbecue dinner plan and had a generous, tasty spread on a boat-shaped platter, including olive beef. In summer the sun set late, so eating and drinking beer while looking out over the sea and olive groves at dusk was fantastic. For a bath, we bought discounted tickets to the nearby Sun Olive Onsen and went there. Thanks!
