The bath was the highlight for me. For just 500 yen, you can soak outside with the snow raging around you and a view toward the cape. I stopped in for lunch and a bath, not an overnight stay, and it was one of the best winter bathing spots I could imagine. If you're visiting Cape Tappi, give the public bath a try. In the quiet tourist season, you may practically have it to yourself.

Dinner was great, and most of the nearby sights are an easy walk from the hotel. The room is small, but the open-air onsen looks out over a little fishing village.
