Sosennoyado Suhaku

A complimentary beer after the bath was a lovely touch. The hot spring was soothing, and I left feeling completely rejuvenated. It was such a relaxing countryside stay, with a peaceful, spacious atmosphere that felt like a refreshing break from the city. The staff were warm and attentive throughout.

The rooftop onsen was a real highlight, with separate areas for men and women and the option to book a private pool. Both the indoor bath and outdoor bath were lovely, and the outdoor one looks out over the lake. It stayed open until midnight, so I could soak after a full day of sightseeing. Suhaku is right next to Lake Suwa. My room was big and had all the amenities I needed. The whole hotel was spotless, and the staff were very professional, polite, and helpful. I had a great stay and hope to come back someday.

We stayed two days with the family, and the onsen was a favourite. It was clean and had spectacular lake views. The men’s and women’s sides switch, so over two nights you can try both. There’s also a private bath I didn’t use. Beer and ice pops are offered afterward. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The food was good, though not the best. They brought out a lot at once instead of serving course by course, and we had to ask them to slow down before everything got cold. The location worked well for seeing the fireworks at night, catching the sunset from the restaurant, and starting the morning with the lake view from the onsen. The souvenir shop was fairly priced.

A very pleasant stay in a clean facility, with lots of COVID prevention measures. The onsen water was high quality, and the city-center location beside the lake made it convenient and gave us a beautiful view.
