I felt at home right away, and had already made friends before checking in. The place has a lovely, traditional building, but the cozy, social feel is what really stood out. Marina, the owner, is so friendly and takes time to get to know everyone. Luke, one of the staff, came on a trail walk with me, and we had great chats. Momoka was also incredibly kind, always checking on guests and helping us plan our days. She even drove me to the station when I left. Thanks for an unforgettable stay, guys. If you want somewhere that feels like home, with staff who really care, I can't recommend it enough.

Kura made my time in Suzaka lovely. The staff, including Marina san, were wonderful, friendly people who gave great recommendations and made sure I had an amazing stay. The house is beautiful and 140 years old, with a really traditional feel for staying in Japan.

It's a great spot for solo travel, since you get the chance to meet people. The host is the best, and the place has a traditional feel with lots of lovely details. I'd especially recommend staying more than one night if you can, to enjoy life in this quiet little town.

Maria and the staff were fantastic. They had so many recommendations for things to do nearby, and all of them were great. The rooms feel like a traditional Japanese home, with futons and paper walls, and you take your shoes off indoors. They even hosted a Takoyaki party, see pics, I forgot to take pics of anything else. They also drove us to the train station. You could have a lovely time just following their suggestions.
