It’s a quiet resort, and I had a wonderful time. The buffet had a good range of food, which made up for the quality being good but not outstanding. The dining room was roomy and comfortable, and the staff were kind and attentive. The onsen was relaxing, too. My room’s sunset view was stunning, so I’d recommend booking one facing that way.

The staff’s hospitality really overwhelmed us, and the view from our room was splendid.

We’ve just come back from an overnight stay at T irago ocean resort. We’re from the other end of Aichi, not a different prefecture, and the drive took nearly three hours. Google Maps got us there easily. We arrived around 11:50am, and I’d called ahead to ask about using facilities before check-in. They said the pool would be available around 1pm, so the kids and I waited in the lobby for about an hour. The free Wi-Fi worked everywhere around the resort without any hassle. At 12:50 I asked reception about changing near the pool. They pointed out the lockers and changing room and checked whether I’d completed check-in. I hadn’t, and had assumed we’d have to return at 3pm to get our keys. The receptionist explained that we could check in earlier and enter the room at 3, then handed me our key card and went over dinner booking, breakfast time, and the other basics. It all went smoothly. We headed to the pool, which was well organized. There were floats for sale, along with drinks and ice cream, but as expected they were expensive. I wish I’d known we could bring big pool floats. We decided to wait for the dinner buffet instead. Overnight guests can use the pool from 1pm to 5pm, and the night pool is adults only. On checkout day, it’s open from 10am to noon. The public bath runs from 1pm to midnight, then again from 5am to 10am the next day. By 3pm we were hungry and tired, so we changed and went to our room. The view was fantastic, and the bed was fluffy but still firm enough to support our tired bodies. There’s a vending machine on every floor, plus a water dispenser on each floor and an ice dispenser on the sixth. We had complimentary UCC coffee pods, tea, and a kettle, as well as delicious melon snacks. There was also a small refrigerator for drinks. We’d brought snacks, cup ramen, and drinks, which we ate while passing the time. At 6pm, two staff members knocked and came in to set up the futon beds. Our dinner buffet reservation was for 7:15, and it was a big hit. The melon festival buffet had really sweet melon, steak, Chinese dishes, Japanese sushi, and Western food. For an extra 2,500, you could get all-you-can-drink alcoholic drinks. After dinner we checked out the entertainment room, played a little, then rested. The next day was beautiful too. We had breakfast at 9:30am, returned to the room, and got ready to check out. The kids had so much fun in the pool that we missed the public bath, but we’ll be back for sure.

Such a lovely place to properly relax. The room was very comfortable, and the ocean-facing Onsen was excellent. The staff were professional and kind. If you need a rest, this is the place.

A quiet, relaxing spot for a getaway. I especially enjoyed the Spa / Onsen, which stays open late, and the breakfast buffet at Sunset restaurant. There was a wide choice of Western and traditional Japanese dishes, and best of all, the coffee was good. The staff were nice, though at times they seemed a little unsure. Maybe that’s the effect I have as a foreigner! There are plenty of beaches nearby and a lighthouse that’s nice at sunset, but lunch and dinner choices around the hotel are limited. You’ll need a car or be ready for a lot of walking up and down the hill to reach places. We visited at the end of October, so I imagine summer is busier and has more going on. Still, it made for a nice weekend break, and the view from the room alone was worth it.
