I came for a day visit and only used the onsen, without staying overnight. The water was the best I’ve experienced: soft against my skin, with no smell or color, and at a perfect temperature. There’s a large indoor bath and another outdoors, plus a smaller bath down the hall with an infinity section. The water quality was best of all.

I only come for the onsen, so I can’t comment on the rooms. It’s easily one of my favorites, with three baths, including one that looks out over the town below, as well as a sauna and cold pool. The restaurant is elegant and the service is great.

The price is low, the staff are friendly, and the meals are excellent. There was even a separate tea room in my hotel room. I’d like to come back during ski season.
