Check-in is unmanned. You can leave your luggage on the first floor and lock it up yourself. I stayed three nights, and they cleaned once and replenished the towels. For check-in, call and give them your room number and password. Then enter those details in the locker to the right of the phone, and you’ll find the room key inside.

The room was cold, and the futon was flimsy and very thin. The tilted air conditioner left my throat really scratchy when I woke up. It was a small unit bath, with a cramped toilet and bathroom. I won’t stay here again.

There are plenty of places nearby for everyday needs. The room felt a little dated, but I was very satisfied overall. Being able to store luggage for free after checkout was handy for traveling.

Takamatsu hotel prices have been going up, so I booked this one because it was a little cheaper. The location is excellent. Driving is a challenge: the road to the hotel is narrow and parking is difficult, so parking at the nearby art museum is better. There’s no elevator, which could make the upper floors hard for some people to reach. The room was small and old, and the narrow bed felt cramped. A constant humming from the air conditioning kept bothering me and made it hard to sleep. The shower temperature was also annoying to adjust. Even once set, it changed drastically. It was quite an experience.

There was some kind of live performance happening, so I suppose the slightly low room rate was understandable. Late checkout was a plus, which is why I’m giving it more stars.
