Yashima No Yado Momotaro

The view of Yashima from the room was amazing, the food was delicious, and the owner had such a calming personality. I brought my two cockatiels for a one-night, two-day stay, but the room was so spacious that I worried about letting them out. I’d brought a fairly large parrot cage, and still couldn’t let them out, so next time I’ll bring a big mosquito net. There aren’t many places that allow small animals, so I’m glad I found this rare inn. I’ll definitely come back before the end of the year!

The meals were all tasty, especially the fresh seafood, and the landlady was friendly and fun. We found this place while looking for somewhere that would take dogs, and it happened to have availability. It sits on a mountain. From the paid parking lot, just walk down the side road to reach it, then pick up a free parking ticket from the inn on your way back. The outside looks like an inn, but inside our room was a spacious Western-style one with a view of the Seto Inland Sea right beside it. We could relax there with our two dogs and our toy poodle.

The old building and the lack of an elevator to the third floor were a bit tough. They said they’re planning to install one, though. Still, we were so satisfied that we’ll definitely come back. We had a relaxing time looking out over the Seto Inland Sea from the bed, with a massage chair there too. The bath in the room had a great view, and dinner was served in a private room right next door, prepared by the staff. We stayed on the third floor in a spacious room with a bath, on a family trip with our dog. The room was over 20 tatami mats, and our dog loved having all that space. There was also a dog run, which was a real blessing since our dog doesn’t like other dogs, and we could go up to the roof for an amazing view. The food was absolutely delicious, and drinks were almost at cost, which was great for a heavy drinker. We’ve stayed at other hotels with our dog, but this one was the best!

I’m sorry to start with an apology m(_ _;)m. We traveled with family and our dog. The food really was as good as the reviews said, the room was very spacious, and the view was lovely. We could watch both sunrise and sunset from the room, and it was great for walks with our dog. I was genuinely satisfied with everything except the bath and the age of the building. My parents had been looking forward to bathing, and we already knew from reviews that the inn was old, but we never imagined there’d be a palm-sized spider in the bathroom. Seeing it was terrifying, and I couldn’t get in the bath. In the middle of such hot weather, the whole family had to go home without bathing. Since it’s family-run and we wanted the trip to end pleasantly, we left without saying anything. But then on the second day we had to travel around smelling sweaty, and I felt conflicted about putting up with that after paying so much. It was over 30,000 yen per person. Even though the other things were really satisfying, knowing how old it was and that we couldn’t use the bath left me feeling it wasn’t worth the price, even for an inn that accepts dogs.
