APA Hotel Takamatsu Kawaramachi

It’s a convenient spot for getting around. Kawaramachi tram station (Kawaramachi Station), shopping mall (Kawaramachi Flag), a supermarket, Lawson, cosmetics store (Takamatsu Monster), and restaurants are about a four-minute walk away. Takamatsu Marugame-machi shopping district (Marugame-machi Shopping Street) and the new Marugame-machi Green shopping district (Marugame-machi GREEN) are about 5-6 minutes away. From Takamatsu airport, it’s a three-minute walk from the airport limousine bus stop, Kawaramachitenmaya stop (Kawaramachi Station), to the hotel. For the return trip to the airport, though, Kenchodori Chuokoen mae (Kencho-dori Chuo Koen-mae) is a 10-minute walk away, which is a bit much with luggage. The area right around the hotel also feels quiet and dark at night. My twin room and bathroom were clean and quiet, and their size was fine. The twin beds looked like semi-double beds, so they were roomy but a little large for the room. The LCD TV took up too much of the desk and blocked the mirror. A wall-mounted TV might leave more desk space. Even though it was a smoking room, there was an air purifier and no smell of smoke. Wifi was okay. Breakfast was an okay buffet, but there are better and cheaper options nearby.

The hotel and neighborhood were quiet, with no noisy bars around. It was clean throughout, including the room’s shower and bathroom, and room service seemed to come daily. Wifi worked everywhere, with good coverage and speeds of roughly 10MB. They gave me the password on the check-in receipt, or you can find it by turning on the TV. There are a few convenience stores less than a five-minute walk away. Kawaramachi station is about a five-minute walk away, and the price was good. Staff speak English for basic information like hotel details and dates, though I wouldn’t expect complicated conversations. They offer breakfast for 800JPY-1000JPY, coin laundry for 300 JPY per 30 minutes with washing powder added automatically, and a dryer for 100JPY per 30 minutes. I recommend it.

Convenient location, and my room was clean and nice. The hotel also has onsite parking.

I’ll bring my own pillow next time since the ones here are flat and hard. The bed itself was really comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Otherwise, our accommodation was perfect and we had a very enjoyable stay.
