A nice traditional hostel, with a good family meal.
We stayed here during a 3-2 day trip around Lake Biwa. That day's planned ride was an easygoing one, though we cycled nearly 80 kilometers. I usually pick lodging to fit the day's route, and consider guesthouses and traditional inns as well as hotels. A guesthouse with a night and two meals is a good way to get closer to local life. Booking this room-and-two-meals plan online was easy. The guesthouse is down a quiet alley, with parking nearby, and we could bring our bikes inside. Breakfast and dinner were generous and made with local food. Laundry costs 100 yen, which is a great price, but there's no dryer, so we used the air conditioner to dry our clothes. The Japanese sliding doors don't lock and the bathroom is shared, but it had all the essentials, including both meals. A really nice experience.
The hostess was so thoughtful, and breakfast came with a tasty selection of dishes. The inn has a warm, grandma's-house feel, and the prices are reasonable too. 🙆🤩😋👍✨
My family came all the way from Hokkaido, and we loved the food. The hostess was lovely too. Thanks, we'd like to visit again.
I was here for work for one night, without meals, and had also stayed last year on a business trip. I got back early in the morning and was given a rice ball. The room was spacious and had air conditioning and a TV, which made it easy to relax. Having a big supermarket nearby was handy for shopping. I'd stay here again when I need to travel out this way.
