The peaceful onsen is tucked among rocks, trees, and plants, and felt spectacular. The ryokan itself is fabulous, with Japanese decorations and everything set out to make the stay comfortable and give guests enough information. A staff member showed us around and accompanied us to dinner. The kind woman with us spoke English very well. Dinner was one of the best meals we've had, with Hida beef and delicious, elegant local dishes. There are 10 courses, so come hungry, maybe skip lunch. Be sure to reserve dinner when booking your room. Depending on the season, plan to bring enough cash: we could have paid around 41000¥ including dinner but not breakfast.

The stay was memorable, thanks to how caring and friendly the owner and staff were. They picked us up at the bus stop because we'd have suitcases, took us to the bear park, and lent us umbrellas. The owner also helped two lost foreign visitors by driving them back to their hotel, which we really appreciated. They arranged for their only English speaking staff member to look after us the whole time, from showing us our room to serving dinner and breakfast.

A lovely Ryokan, with roomy rooms and amazing food. I enjoyed my stay a lot and would definitely recommend it to anyone after a relaxing break.

Dinner was delicious, and we really enjoyed it. The onsens were great too, and the room and Ryokan were both beautiful. The service made a strong impression from the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel welcome and well treated. It went beyond what we expected, and we hope to return 😍
