I liked the idea of getting a mini Japanese room at a hostel price, and it was comfortable with a good location. You can do laundry for free across the street. My room did have smells and noises that bothered me, and there was just one AC for the whole hallway. The common area and toilets were also really small and uncomfortable. For those things, other hostels can be better and cheaper.

The location is great, and it works very well for a short stay. Service was quick and efficient. I would have liked room doors and a locker for valuables, though. Having someone at the property for a more personal reception might also make it feel livelier.

It’s simple and clean, and good for the price. I felt comfortable and safe here, with an easy remote check-in. The old town is very close, and it was easy to walk everywhere. A nice affordable place while exploring Takayama.

They answered our emails quickly before arrival, and the girl helping us through the entrance monitor was kind and patient. The place was quiet, the beds comfortable, and the price was great for Takayama. Just right if you’ll be out exploring all day and need a clean place to crash.
