It’s a very quiet spot, just right for a restful break while traveling around Japan. Getting there by public transport is easy, though buses don’t come very often, and that was fine for us. The traditional Rayokan had excellent service and food. I’d love to visit in another season.

We really enjoyed the outdoor ofuro, with plenty of comfortable places to sit or stretch out, and our room was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. The staff were welcoming, spoke good English, answered our messages quickly, and were happy to arrange for our late arrival. They also gave us helpful directions for reaching nearby Kamikochi. They accommodated my wife’s severe seafood allergy, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Breakfast felt more modern than most we’ve had at ryokans. From the Japanese-style rooms to the bathing area and dinner, it was a wonderful traditional ryokan stay. We spent two nights here.

The dining was a highlight. Dinner was generous and delicious, with just a few things tasting a little salty to us, though we may simply eat less salt than average. Breakfast was great too. The staff were welcoming and helped with everything, including restaurant bookings and an early breakfast for our early departure. We spent two nights here and liked the ryokan’s atmosphere, especially the main area. Our room was large and comfortable, and the onsen was clean and relaxing. We went before breakfast and dinner each time, especially enjoying the outdoor bath. I’d definitely come back to the area.

The private dining rooms were a lovely surprise, and the food was tasty, nicely presented, and felt like it was made with care. We had a good chat with the person serving us. I didn’t catch her name, but she travels a lot and hopes to travel more, so it was nice meeting a kindred spirit in this quiet village. The ryokan is tucked off the main road in a small village, and the peaceful setting suits it. It was clean and well cared for, with a warm feel. From the entrance, the staff were engaging and kind. Azusa stood out for her friendly, energetic welcome. Our room was enormous and comfortable, with more space than I expected to find in Japan. My friend thought it smelled a little musky, perhaps because the place doesn’t get many visitors. The ofuro was nice, though the outdoor section was small and the water there wasn’t very hot. Inside, it was very hot, which I liked. There’s a cemetery next to the ofuros, which might unsettle some people, though I’m not superstitious. I loved staying here, and we’ll be back. Thank you for all your hard work。

We spent two nights here, and the staff were always ready to help, speaking excellent English. Our room was spacious, and stargazing from the outdoor onsen was special. The bath isn’t huge, but it’s a good size for a hotel this small. Since we had to head to Kamikochi before breakfast, they packed onigiri for us instead of the full meal. It was perfect trekking fuel, and honestly I liked it even more than the hotel breakfast. I’m grateful they offered it. Dinner was 7,700 yen in 2023 and tasted good. I wouldn’t call it a must-try, since you can find similar food for less elsewhere, but it’s worth trying if you want a full dinner set prepared by the Ryokan. Thanks for a great stay.
