Yarimikan

The food looks delicate, though the taste can be hit or miss. Staff were nice, and some speak very fluent English. The mochi pounding activity was fun. It's a really nice onsen up in the mountains of Gifu.

We had our honeymoon here, and the stay was invaluable to us. The private and mixed onsens were spectacular, with amazing views. The food was great, and the staff were very helpful. A wonderful ryokan experience.

I loved the meals here, and the room was spacious. The service was great, too. The riverside onsen is especially beautiful, with snowy mountains in view.

The river, the dark wood, and the views from the windows are what make Yarimikan such a lovely place for us. It’s our favorite among the many onsen hotels we’ve visited in Japan, and we hope to return soon. We had a wonderful two-night stay and enjoyed every minute. This was our third visit, for my husband’s birthday. We booked the Kiri room this time, which has its own small outdoor bath. There’s also a lovely mixed outdoor bath and several private baths. The staff were friendly and helpful as always, and many of them speak English. We really enjoyed the delicious food. Thank you, Yarimikan Team, for two lovely days and a great birthday!
