Yuka Sanzouan

The owner was lovely, the rooms were clean, and we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner.

The meals and private onsen were excellent, and everything was spotless. Staff patiently explained the meals, amenities like the yukata, check-in, and the accommodation and onsen taxes. They even came to the bus terminal to check if we were still there and return the things we'd forgotten. I hope this lovely place stays open for years. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Hirayu.

The private hinoki bath was beautiful and fragrant, and I found the water gentle, even compared with other Hirayu Onsen springs. I thought it might suit women and children with sensitive skin. It was about 1800 x 1200 mm, so two adults could stretch out in it. The bedroom mattress was over 100 mm thick and very comfortable. The room had two adjoining Japanese-style spaces, one set up for relaxing and dining, the other as a bedroom. You can close them off from each other, and both have a ventilator and heater, so meal smells don't hang around in the bedroom. There's also a place to hang clothes there, which women may appreciate for keeping food smells off their clothes. The room was simply beautiful. I think this inn is a lovely place to strengthen bonds with a partner or family, even on a one-night stay. I've gone snowboarding in winter and stayed at its affiliated Hirayu no Mori for 24 years, but it was fully booked this time, so I came here instead. Please consider this a different place from its sister properties, Hirayu no Mori and Hotel Hirayu no Mori. I booked at the last minute for today and tomorrow, so I stayed without meals. Ask ahead about what's served. If I were staying here, I'd split my time between sightseeing and enjoying the inn. Sorry this got long and a bit disorganized.

The private hot spring bath in our room felt like its own little cottage, not just a bathroom. We could use it as often as we wanted, which felt incredibly luxurious. My parents found their bath quite hot and had to cool it with cold water. The water in ours was just right for a long soak. My parents and I had a wonderful visit. Everyone at the inn was kind, our room was spacious, and both meals came in generous portions.
