The natural onsen was a highlight. I could open the window and step onto a small balcony to cool off. The staff were very nice, and the rooms were fine, though I had trouble staying comfortable at night since the mattress and covers felt too cold or too hot depending on how many layers I used. Wi-Fi was available, but might slow down when the hotel is busy. I came in winter for the ice driving events at Megamiko lake, and staying right across from it was really convenient. The price was reasonable, and dinner was included. The handmade food was high quality, and the chef did a good job.

It's a quiet place to stay, and the room was clean and looked after well. The hotel itself is a little old. I found Lake Megami on a nearby walk, then had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. The food was delicious, and the staff were warm and kind.

The location is excellent, and the view from the room is in the photo, but the stay could use a lot of refinement. There were only Maruyama Coffee drip packs in the room. As other reviews also say, there was no mineral water or aromatherapy at all. I wondered if that was because I was in a single-occupancy room. If so, that's a problem. The linens were old, and the bed was quite hard. The changing room and bathroom were so cold that I couldn't wash properly. It was cold in the hallway and lobby too. Dinner was a set course, but service was generally slow. The food was average to below average. Maybe that was because I chose the cheaper course? I'd have preferred less food at a lower price over a drop in quality.
