There’s almost nothing nearby, so I’d recommend bringing things yourself or asking if you can leave and come back, perhaps after paying. I stayed in a room with an open-air bath 😊. Both the outdoor and indoor baths contain metasilicic acid, a skin-beautifying ingredient that promotes skin metabolism and regulates ceramides. It’s naturally present in the hot spring, and Arima Onsen is also known for containing it. The outdoor bath is just beyond the fields, looking out toward the ocean. Apparently you can see Oshima and Niijima on clear days. In a lush green place like Tateyama, insects, frogs, and other wildlife are to be expected with an open-air bath. You can enjoy natural hot springs in the room’s outdoor bath. The indoor bath is an artificial hot spring.

Aside from that, it’s a really great hotel. I came back because I loved the hot springs and cleanliness when I stayed here two years ago. This time, the smell from the “Deodorizing Power Automatic Spray” air freshener was so strong it made me feel sick. It sprays every 15 minutes. I hadn’t spotted it behind the TV, and even after leaving the window open for hours to air out the room, the smell remained. “Fragrance pollution” has become a bigger concern lately, and more people seem to be developing chemical sensitivity to synthetic fragrances made from harmful chemicals. I believe the hotel installed the sprays to help guests by removing room odors, but I wish they’d take this issue into account too.

The rooms are a bit cramped, perhaps because of the open-air bath, but they’re clean and the front desk staff are very helpful. This was my third visit, and I’ve now stayed in rooms 101, 102, and 105. Having an open-air bath in a love hotel is great! The swallows’ nest bothered me, so I took off one star. A little later, a pit viper appeared in the nest 🐍, so I took off another. Three stars in all.

The first-floor room was clean, and the natural hot spring open-air bath was really nice. The ceiling shows a little age. Snails and other bugs can get into the outdoor bath, but that comes with it being outside. I also appreciated how sincere the reception staff seemed.

We stayed here while sightseeing in Chiba, in room 305 with an ocean view. The hotel sits on a hill and has a spacious parking lot. There’s a convenience store across from it for groceries. It’s a love hotel converted from a resort hotel, so the reception area is spacious and has a real resort feel. It could suit someone needing a last-minute stay or looking for that kind of atmosphere. The room and bath had amazing views, and the bath is a natural hot spring that left my skin glowing. I’d never stayed in a love hotel like this before! Some rooms have open-air baths too. Check-in starts at 6:00 PM, and check-out is 11:00 AM the next day. If you’re staying overnight, it’s best to arrive early or book ahead. It was so popular that we ended up wasting the whole day. There are only vending machines inside, so if you plan to eat, stop at a nearby convenience store first. The average price is under 10,000 yen, though it depends on the room grade. Why not enjoy a resort-style love hotel with your significant other on a trip to Chiba? ⚠
