Very poor. The Wi-Fi was bad, staff spoke hardly any English, and there were no English menus. On our first night, we went to the dining area but were escorted to the snack bar for some reason. Watch out for the ¥600 bathing or hot springs tax added at checkout, even though we hadn’t used the pool or any other facilities. No one mentioned it at check-in. We were pressed for time to return the car at Haneda, otherwise I would have refused to pay and told them to call the cops. There wasn’t even a sachet of coffee in the room. The air conditioning kept switching itself back on a few minutes after we turned it off, and some kind of machine ran all night just outside the window. The fridge was noisy too.

We had a really enjoyable stay and got beautiful sunset pictures from the seaside. Our VIP room had an amazing massage chair, and there are two osens available. The rooms are nice and warm, though the premises are a bit worn and tired. Lovely place.

The buffet dinner had plenty of choice, including a nice variety of sashimi and good-quality steak for a buffet. The Onsen was relaxing, and the pool area has a nice landscape close to the ocean. The location is very nice. The rooms were mostly clean, though we found chips under and next to the bed. Even so, we had a very pleasant stay.

The kids loved the pool, which is really wonderful, and the location is beautiful, with clear-water beaches nearby that are good for snorkeling and for children. It feels far from the city crowds, but Tateyama is only about 20 minutes away, and the nearest 7-11 is around a 7-minute drive. There isn’t much local dining unless you drive to Tateyama. We stayed in a tatami-style room. It was clean and a good size, but old-fashioned and at the back of the hotel, so there was no view.

Bizarre interiors, bad service, and an unusual price point. If odd carpet colors are your thing, this is the perfect hotel.
