The meal was generous and delicious, with great fish and meat. Dinner was enough to completely fill even a reasonably sized adult man, so go hungry. Breakfast was a luxurious Japanese meal, more than usual, and I was completely satisfied. We stayed in the Hoju room over a three-day weekend in February for one last relaxing trip before my wife gave birth. The room and inn were old, but clean, with a great atmosphere. The toilet, air conditioner and TV were new. The sunset from our room was the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. The open-air bath is outside, down a flight of stairs. The stairs could be difficult for older guests or pregnant women with large bellies, but the bath was big, and you could see the stars at night. It had a fantastic atmosphere. The shower area is outside too, so washing in winter will leave you cold. As others have mentioned, people outside could see you if you’re not careful, though I think that’s only a concern if someone is being particularly weird and trying to peek. The bath is in the room.
