Hotel Takao Asile

The online pre-check-in made everything easy and hassle-free. I went to the Takao area for an overnight stay, and the room was clean with no issues. It seems the hotel used to be a love hotel. At about 2 km from Takaosanguchi station, the price felt like good value.

I used to stay here many times, and seeing how much it had changed over the decades really surprised me. I don't plan to return. The old Asylum was better. I wonder if it's now owned by a foreigner? The website had some English-like writing, and when I went without using that, I was surprised to be charged 12,000 yen. They said it was cash only. The receptionist was a foreigner, too. It's hard to tell whether the place is even a hotel. It's really no good, more like a business hotel than a love hotel. As some comments here say, the love hotel along Route 20 might be a better choice. Parking could be difficult if you have a big car.

The room was roomy and comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked fine. Good value for the money.

I went to the hotel but couldn't find the quick check-in option there, so I called. The owner treated me very badly over the phone. There was no sign or lighting to show where the front desk was. I rang the front desk bell, and the owner came out yelling and being extremely rude, even though it was so dark that we could barely see anything. We got back in the car and left. I don't recommend this hotel.
