There isn’t much around, but staying here with a dog was fun. There are several dogruns, dog walks, and hiking trails, with trash bins around the property. Dog breakfast and amenities were included. We had the lake side villa. It was quiet, though dated and in need of a better clean. The bathroom and shower were awful, with spiderwebs everywhere. We did like the little garden, where you can rent a BBQ for ¥1000 with a grill or ¥2000 with charcoal, or bring your own grill for free. There was construction during our visit, including on the lake side, which really spoiled the atmosphere. The mountain bike trails were also under construction, and I think guests should be told about that ahead of time. The onsen was amazing, including an outdoor mixed hot spring you can use in a swimsuit. Breakfast buffet was nice, with a good selection, and you can get it to take back to your room. With a bit more effort keeping things clean, this could be an amazing place.

It’s close to Hatoriko ski resort, and the place is clearly set up to give dogs and their people a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the good food, the doggy buffet, and the very nice onsen. The restaurant staff weren’t especially friendly, though, so I’ve taken off a star.

There’s a restaurant and even a fast charger for electric cars on site. You can rent dome houses or larger multi family houses, and some have their own sauna and hot spring. The facilities also include a pool and hot springs where mixed-gender bathing is allowed in swimsuits. It’s one of the best places for camping in any season, and even beginners can manage a winter trip in the snow.

We were unlucky that the onsen area was broken when we visited, but the place itself was remarkable and absolutely beautiful. The rental houses were spacious and reasonably priced, and they have pet friendly facilities too. I’ll definitely visit again!
