Hotel Masyu

The rooms are spacious, traditional Japanese style, very clean, and quiet. The first-floor onsen is lovely, open 24 hours, and never seemed overcrowded. Front desk staff were kind and accommodating, and could explain local public transport. The hotel is within walking distance of Mashu station and close to several convenience stores and supermarkets. I had a very positive stay and highly recommend it if you’re in the area.

The staff helped a lot and shared useful information, especially Kigure San. I ended up loving my stay, even though I came to Teshikaga and booked the two nights there by chance. There’s a small park right next door, and the hotel is a few minutes from convenience stores and supermarkets. Some nice restaurants are nearby too, and the train station isn’t far. The room was spacious for two and had a traditional Japanese feel. I also enjoyed the 24-hour onsen, which wasn’t crowded. I highly recommend staying here in Teshikaga, and if I get the chance to return to town, I’ll stay here again.

The building has a cozy, retro feel, and the staff were lovely. The room was a good size, though the pillow wasn’t very comfortable. The onsen was small but nice. All in all, a good stay.

This isn’t a posh hotel, but if you want a real experience, you should stay here. The onsen was the hottest and most authentic of the three Hokkaido onsen I tried. The other two were in fancier hotels, but didn’t have the same kick or atmosphere. I believe it’s a family-run place, with friendly, helpful, polite staff and amazing food. You can choose a 6-, 8-, or 9-course meal. I went with eight courses and was completely full, but kept eating because it was so good. I loved this place.
