They were so welcoming and went out of their way to help us. They stored our bikes and shared local tips. It’s a bit remote, which we noticed while bike packing, but Lake Mashu and the station are still only a short drive away. Thanks for being rad! The New Zealand ladies

The rooms and beds were average, but the price felt like good value. The hostel is spacious and within driving distance of Masshuko Lake, one of Hokkaido’s most scenic places. What made the stay stand out was the owner and staff. He was one of the best hostel hosts I’ve met, really cared about bringing guests together, and helped people get to know each other while also taking great care of them himself.

Mount Mashu is only 7 km away by car, so the hostel’s location worked well for us. The rooms were large, but the room and shared facilities seemed rather dirty and didn’t feel clean, especially the toilets. The showers were outdated and set up as a sort of group shower. We were glad we stayed just one night. At 49 euros for a private room, it felt too expensive to us.

A lovely place to explore the Mi Akan region, and a good spot to meet fellow travellers and locals. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it’s good for kids. I took off a star because the shower rules seemed weird and were never enforced. But hey, this is Japan!

The common room is cozy and has the basics for cooking, plus free coffee and tea. There’s an in-house onsen, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly and know the local area well. Ask Dai about local outdoor onsens! Great location and a beautiful facility, 5/5, highly recommend 👌
