The common shower area was clean and pleasant, with a hair drying space outside it like at an onsen. Wi-Fi was quite fast, and there’s a large kitchen. The washing machine is free, though detergent costs extra or you can bring your own. There’s no dryer, but you can borrow a drying rack, which was helpful. You need to sort your trash. The hostel felt modern and clean, with about 7 parking lots, though the rooms are small. With some tetris, I could open 1 full size suitcase. Towels cost 200 yen and a toothbrush set 100 yen. That’s normal hostel practice, but I hadn’t stayed in one for a while and had forgotten. The walls are thin and sound echoes, so other guests can disturb you.

We were passing through and stayed one night at the end of October. The place was empty, so there were no issues with crowds or noise. Reception was good, the information was clear throughout, and everything was clean. There’s a fully equipped, well-organized kitchen and a common area beside it. It’s very close to Akan National Park, making it a great base for exploring nearby places.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the place stayed quiet without ever feeling crowded. It’s small, and the rooms and facilities are modern and super clean. I used it as a base for hiking in the National park. There’s a kitchen and dining area, with free tea and coffee, which is rare for a hostel. Having a car is best for getting here and exploring, though they also rent E-Bikes. Everything I’d expect from a Hostel/Minshuku, plus a bit more. A very pleasant stay.
