We came with a baby and a four-year-old and had a wonderful, very Japanese-style stay. The staff took such good care of us and noticed the details. During the low season, many restaurants were closed, but they helped us figure out dinner and lunch. The staff and onsen were the most charming we've experienced so far in Japan. It’s a lovely, almost mystical hotel, and we’d recommend it, along with the area's slow-tourism feel. Hope to see you again soon!

We enjoyed the free shuttle service for getting around and reaching a nearby restaurant, where the set menus were tasty and reasonably priced. The reception staff were among the kindest I've met, always helpful and keen to make guests feel at home. Our room had a stunning view over Toba bay. The building feels old, especially the entrance and bathrooms, with a nostalgic Japanese 90s atmosphere, but the rooms themselves are quite nice. The hotel's hot springs were in good shape and spacious, and I liked the shampoo bar.

Such a lovely ryokan, with warm, professional staff. The food was delicious, the view felt magical, and we left with memories we won't forget. I'd love to return soon.
