We spent two nights here in December 2025 on a half-board package with breakfast and dinner. The sea-view room was very spacious, and the ocean view was beautiful, definitely a highlight. The meals were quite average for the room rate and compared with other hotels offering similar packages. Although Matsusaka beef and Ise lobster were advertised, nothing on the menu really stood out. Dinner service was so slow it nearly felt like French fine dining, without the matching quality. Sound insulation was extremely poor. We could hear conversations, footsteps, and movement from the rooms beside us and above, as though they were right next door. When a nearby guest complained that we were noisy, the hotel didn't acknowledge the obvious insulation problem and instead asked us to keep our voices down, though we weren't being loud. We could hear everything from surrounding rooms ourselves, so it was clear to us that the problem was the room insulation. It felt unfair to put all the responsibility on the guests. The nice room size and view couldn't make up for the poor soundproofing and disappointing dining.

The room was large, with lovely views both at night and in the morning, and even had an AI machine so I could play music while enjoying the scenery. Front desk staff were friendly, handled our requests, and picked us up from and dropped us back at Toba Station. Restaurant staff were just as helpful and friendly, with amazing service. I really enjoyed the clean hot spring, including the outdoor onsen. The lobby had free popsicles and coffee, and the ramen offered as a late-night snack was super good. I really recommend this hotel. Love it 🥰

Dinner service was meant to run from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. I arrived at 9:59 p.m., but the waitress, who looked Filipina, said service was already over. I pointed out that 21:59 wasn't 22:00, and she checked her watch before reluctantly seating me. My boyfriend arrived right at 10:00 p.m. She then said dinner was over and could serve only my portion, not his. If service ends at 22:00, it shouldn't be treated as ending a minute earlier. And if the kitchen was already making one serving, it would have been helpful to prepare another as well. Some flexibility would be appreciated. If staff are eager to leave early, they might want to reconsider hospitality work. The room also had very poor sound insulation, and the shower temperature kept fluctuating significantly on its own.

The island and ocean view from the window was stunning, and I had a really nice stay. The place is so close to nature that birds had me up around 4:30 a.m., lol. Front desk staff could handle requests and questions in both Taiwanese and English, and the train station pickup and drop-off were free.

The free station shuttle and warm welcome from the staff made our one-night stay off to a good start. They told us before check-in that our room was on the 5th floor without elevator access. That was fine with backpacks, but heavy suitcases could be a problem, so it's worth checking the floor beforehand. Room 501 had no closet, as far as I could tell, just a few wall hangers, so there isn't much storage if you bring a lot of luggage. The room was spotless, freshly renovated, and comfortable, with a great bathroom, modern fixtures, and all toiletries provided. The bay view was love at first sight. For a small hotel, the onsen was impressive: several roomy baths with jet massage, a wonderful sauna, and an open-air bath. Hardly anyone was there, so I was lucky to enjoy it almost alone. We also enjoyed the restaurant and breakfast, especially the tamagoyaki. The lounge was another highlight, with wide views and comfy chairs and sofas where we spent a lot of time. Free drinks and ice cream were a nice touch, and the coffee was surprisingly good. Everything felt thoughtful and comfortable, with no downsides for us. Big thanks to the staff! Across the street is a great little sushi restaurant run by an elderly couple. We had dinner there and were glad we did. The chef doesn't speak English, so it may not work for guests who don't speak Japanese. For Japanese speakers, it's a good option outside the hotel. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place 👍🏼
