Ayaka
The sashimi from the family was truly delicious, and I'd like to visit Toba again. Staying here felt like being at a relative's home, and I felt close to the landlady. She and her daughter-in-law, who seemed to be family, greeted us with smiles and lots of energy. It's a female-diver-run guesthouse with around 10 rooms. There's no elevator, and the Japanese-style rooms are on the second and third floors, so you need to carry your own luggage. We found it easier to leave most things in the car and take only what we needed. If you want the service of a hotel or first-class inn, this probably isn't the place for you. Still, even if you can't book this inn for a certain date, you can get a set-price meal with wonderful lobster, sea bream, turban shells, and abalone. We came five days before Golden Week, and the room rate seemed about the same as usual.
