The room was spacious, and having an onsen in it was nice. A nice hotel.

We loved having both an indoor and an outdoor bath, plus a footbath, in a room that was much bigger than I’d pictured. My husband found this ryokan after I said I wanted a room with a private open-air bath for our wedding anniversary. Dinner and breakfast looked beautiful and tasted just as good. The staff member who served us was so helpful, explaining each dish, taking our picture on the balcony as we left, and waving until our car was out of sight. We’re already talking about coming back. Thank you for such a lovely time! 😊

We spent two nights here as a family, and it’s the sort of cozy inn where you naturally slow down. The staff were friendly without hovering, and the flexible rides to and from the station helped a lot. We could also take drinks and light snacks from the lobby to the terrace or our room. The food was a highlight. The first night was Japanese-Western fusion, the second Western, both with the chef’s French-trained touch and local seafood and vegetables. Breakfast was generous, carefully made, and gently flavored. Our room had tatami-floored indoor and outdoor baths, apparently fed by Sakakibara Onsen. The water felt smooth and gentle on the skin, and long soaks didn’t wear us out. We kept cooling off in the outdoor bath with the scenery in view, then warming up again inside. For me, the mix of scenery, hot springs, meals, and service really comes into its own over several nights.

The sea view from the open-air bath made it easy to unwind, and the room was clean and comfortable. Dinner featured local Mie food, including Ise beef, which I tried for the first time. It was surprisingly tender and delicious. Breakfast offered plenty of variety and local flavors too. The staff were courteous, and their warm send-off at checkout has stayed with me.
