Hotel Lavien

The room was roomy for Japan, with a separate toilet, a wet area, a couch, and a great view. The internet was incredibly fast at 262/110 mbps. There was also a microwave and DVD player, though I didn't use either. Free parking was plentiful, and the AC worked decently once it finally cooled the room. For the price, it was fair, and fine for a night or two when you mainly need a place to sleep. A lot of little things bothered me. The room was hot when I arrived because they hadn't switched on the AC, even though I'd specifically asked them to do that when booking. It took over an hour to cool down. There was rubbish from previous guests under the bed and tiny holes in the sheets. The spa didn't work properly, some bulbs were out, and the decor looked dated. The lobby was odd, with giant stuffed animals and gnomes everywhere, and portable air-conditioners running around made the place feel cheap. The clerk was courteous but didn't seem to know what they were doing. They insisted I return the actual key whenever I left the property, which felt weird. They also photographed my passport and personal booking confirmation without asking. There's nothing within walking distance, and I didn't see a restaurant.
