Our luggage didn’t arrive through takuhaibin, so we mentioned it to the reception staff. They immediately called Yamato Transport without us having to ask, and the bags showed up about an hour later.

There wasn’t really any guidance or information about the facilities, including the Onsen. The baths themselves had plenty of variety: a very hot one, a low-temperature one, an outdoor Roten, an electric bath, and a high-concentration carbonated spring. That last one was actually my favorite. The stay was good and reasonably priced.

They’ll pick you up and drop you off at the nearest train station. The staff are friendly, though they don’t know English.

I was there mainly to enjoy the therapeutic hot springs, and I was glad I got to do that. Kamikita Sakura Onsen is known locally for its healing waters, which left my skin feeling silky smooth. The room was just right for one person. You can stay overnight and add dinner or breakfast. Breakfast costs over 1,000 yen extra, and the food is as shown in the photo, so it didn’t feel like great value. Still, having warm rice was a relief.
