The beach is only a two-minute walk away, and there’s a lively local izakaya just a minute from the door. We were four people, and the staff kindly picked us up and drove us to different ports. They were so welcoming. Rooms were clean, towels were fresh every day, and ours had air conditioning and a bathtub. Breakfast was fantastic, and the amenities were handy, including laundry for 100 yen. The resident dog and pig were adorable, too.

Aharen beach is stunning, and snorkeling there gives you a chance to spot sea turtles, Nemo and Dori. The hosts are lovely and the food is authentic Japanese. Rooms are simple. One small thing I wish we’d been told at the start: the room light works by remote. And there’s a cute dog and pig living at the place.

Breakfast here is delicious and comes in generous portions. The place is affordable and accommodating, with pickup and drop-off from the ferry terminal, plus a ride to Tokashiki beach if you ask. Aharen beach is about a two-minute walk away. The toilet and bathroom are attached to the room, though there’s also a shared bathroom downstairs on the first floor if you want more space. The refrigerator is shared.

The beach is just two minutes away on foot, and breakfast was delicious. Everyone working here was friendly, and the resident Pomeranian and pig made the place extra cute. They picked us up and took us back to the ferry, and even let us check in early to fit the ferry schedule. I’d stay here again if I return to tokoshiki.
