Four Points by Sheraton Nagoya, Chubu International Airport

The front-desk staff were professional, polite, and friendly. Special thanks to Zhou and Bataa, and to the woman working at the L1 bar, whose name I didn’t catch. She was courteous and firm even with demanding guests. I really liked the king-bed room. It was spacious and clean, and the bathtub and complimentary bath salts were a treat. Breakfast was good too, especially the Nagoya meshi selection. I particularly liked the tofu, so soft and flavourful. I recommend this hotel if you’re flying out of Central Japan Intl Airport, or arriving too late to catch your train, as I did.

The room was the one part that exceeded my expectations. We stayed one night in late oct 2025 in a King Bed, Ocean View, Larger Guest Room on the 12th floor, ahead of our 1030h flight from terminal 1 international departure. It had a welcoming layout, no noticeable plane noise, space for two XL luggages, a luggage rack, and at least 10 hangers. I could submit requests through the app before check-in, including extra pillows, which were very fluffy. The bathroom had good water temperature, pressure, and controls, plus a bath stool and walk-in shower. There were outlets on both sides of the bed. The windows cannot be opened. The breakfast was above average, with hot and cold sections, although one was far away at the other end of the dining area. There were no soft or hard boiled eggs, only the funky ones. The location was less convenient than we expected. It’s more than an 8min walk from terminal 1 after getting off the Musky airport train from Nagoya station, including a 300m unsheltered stretch before the lobby. People with XL luggage, lots of bags, or mobility challenges should be aware. Centrair hotel at terminal 1 would be better located. For the price and Marriott reputation, I expected better service. The hotel offers a free shuttle to terminal 1 at several times, and says it’s first come, first serve with no reservation needed. But staff couldn’t say whether XL luggage could be accommodated, or if people or those who queued first had priority, including for their bags. That made the service useless for my group with XL luggages. It seemed the staff didn’t understand this basic guest need. We ended up using an airport luggage trolley outside the hotel to walk our bags to terminal 1. In the evening, we were next in line for check-in, but two staff were handling another set of guests and two others were engrossed at the next station. A few minutes passed before someone helped us. Around check-in time, guests near the ball table in the bar area were talking very loudly, and no staff came to quiet things down. At checkout, the staff member at the counter was checking some items, which took a few minutes. I also saw another guest hand over their key cards and leave immediately. I know about express checkout via the key drop box, but this looked different, and staff didn’t call them back to complete the checkout process. We paid a premium price, but the service standards didn’t seem to match. Everything beyond the room fell short.

The bedding was very comfortable, and the ambience was great. It was easy to walk to the terminal, and the location is excellent. My overnight stay was brief, but comfortable, with good service and a decent breakfast.

It was wonderfully quiet around the hotel, just how I like it. We booked an upper-floor ocean view room, and the morning view was soothing, a lovely start to the next leg of our journey. The room was large by Japanese standards and very clean, as is usual in Japan. The towels were old and could use replacing, but the bed was very comfortable. For an overnight layover, the location is great: about a five-minute walk from the terminals and three minutes from the Access Plaza, where we caught a train to Nagoya central. There weren’t any shops or restaurants within walking distance except at the Access Plaza. The hotel has a shuttle to and from the terminals, but the weather was perfect and the walk was short.
