The rooms are dated, but they were clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was decent. There are also places to eat nearby if you’d rather go out. The hotel is centrally located, with plenty in walking distance, and taxis, trains and buses right outside.

I only went for breakfast during the Obon holidays, when it was served buffet-style in a banquet room. The range and quality were fine, and the croissants and French toast were good. It cost ¥3000 per person and ¥1200 for elementary school kids.

The hotel has a lovely old grand-hotel feel, from the chandeliers in the lobby to the light music playing throughout, like a throwback to the 70s. My Western-style room was clean, and the breakfast was excellent, though it leaned heavily toward Japanese dishes with some Western choices too. The staff were friendly and helpful. It’s right beside the train station, so coming and going was quick and easy, with some great food options nearby. I spent a night here while passing through Tokushima and had a great experience.

Our room on the 10th floor was small, quiet and bright, and the hotel was great value. The JR station and main bus depot are right next door. We didn’t use the hotel’s facilities or dining since there are plenty of options nearby.

Sakura were in full bloom in the historic central park just behind the hotel. Inside Tokushima train station, the hotel has a classic Grand style, with a spacious room and friendly staff.
