Be careful, this is a scam. We got to Tokyo at around 8:30. At about 4 pm, I received a message saying they had canceled my reservation because of an operational issue. Then at around 6:30pm, they sent an automated message asking whether we were in the room. I replied that we’d arrive around 11 pm, and they said okay. But when we got there, a notice on the door said the company owed the homeowner eight months of rent, so the owner had changed the lock. We had to find a nearby hotel in the middle of the night. It was crazy. They still haven’t replied and are hiding from us.

We arrived to check in and found the door locked, with no host or staff anywhere. Neither the listing nor my confirmation explained how to get inside. I messaged the property right away and never got a response, so I had to find and pay for another place that same night on top of what I’d already paid here. It was a complete scam. Booking.com has refused to refund me. Avoid this place at all costs.

It’s a great fit if you’re traveling alone: clean, fairly new, and it has almost everything you need. The Wi-Fi is great too. A toaster oven and rice cooker would have made it five stars for me. A Japanese home away from home should have those. ;-)

The apartment was clean, new, and well equipped, with a stove, large fridge, microwave, kettle, dishes, and cutlery. It also has a washing machine and a bathroom dryer mounted on the ceiling. I’d have appreciated some tea and coffee, like hotels often provide. The neighborhood is quiet and uncrowded, and the nearest subway stations are a 5-10 minute walk away, though getting to the interesting sights takes a ride. One station is at the top of a very steep climb, which was tough with suitcases. There’s no elevator, as with many Tokyo apartments. A nice place to stay, and I’d recommend it to tourists visiting Tokyo 👍

The only real drawback was the lack of an elevator. Otherwise, we loved this place during our week in Japan. It’s in a quiet area near the subway, with a pharmacy, grocery stores, bars, and restaurants close by. Several temples are within a 30-minute walk. Our room felt spacious by Japan standards and was well maintained, with new furniture and appliances, a washer, dryer, and a good fridge. I’d recommend staying here.
