The photos make the hotel look modern and spacious, but in person it felt cramped and less polished, almost dated. At 400 EUR/night, I’d rather pay more somewhere that actually delivers the comfort, service, and facilities I’d expect from a four-star stay. This might suit tourists who mainly want to be in Ginza and don’t need comfort, service, workspace, or proper facilities. The convenient Ginza location was the main positive. I found the hotel advertised as four-star, but the experience felt more like a limited-service three-star property. The carpets throughout the floors were an exception, but otherwise cleanliness was fine, and should be the minimum standard anyway. What was missing was service and suitable facilities. My room was very small, with no proper wardrobe, table, or workspace. It was awkward to work, sort my belongings, or take a video call. There were just four tables in the lobby and reception area, facing the elevator, so they offered no privacy and didn’t solve the issue. The reception looked like it had been made from a former hotel bar, with a displaced sink behind it. The whole setup felt cluttered and improvised, not like a comfortable welcome area. Staff were polite, but service was limited and their English was limited too. Several things I’d expect at a four-star hotel, including an ironing board, were only available to rent. There’s no laundry service or laundromat. Breakfast tickets got us what was basically a bento box served in the reception area. There was no fresh fruit or juice, no protein option, and nothing felt fresh. Coffee came in paper cups. Eating practically in the lobby facing the elevator, with only a few proper tables, was uncomfortable.

I’d call the location the best part. The hotel sits on a quiet street with a Lawson on the corner, about an eight-minute walk from Tsukiji fish market. The nearest train station is right at the end of the block, and Ginza is central for getting around. The rooms are about average in size for Japan unless you book a larger one. Staff spoke English and were very friendly.

Mai was so friendly and helpful, my four-year-old even wanted to go back and see her. We went twice, but she wasn’t there either time. The customer service really stood out, and we’d happily stay again. This was our favorite hotel in Tokyo. The room was a little tight, but everything was neat and clean, and breakfast was good and convenient.

The room felt cramped with three large suitcases, and I could hear noise from the next room. Soundproofing could be better. Still, the location and service made for a good stay, about 8.5/10 over three nights at Agora Tokyo Ginza. Ginza is within walking distance, the Hibiya Line is close, and there’s a FamilyMart and Lawson nearby. The lobby lounge has free tea, coffee, and light snacks. They can also send luggage to other cities. Reception were very helpful, especially a gentleman from Egypt who went above and beyond.

The hotel is nicely decorated and well maintained, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. With FamilyMart, 7/11, and train stations right nearby, the location is super convenient. I’d definitely come back when I return to Japan.
