APA Hotel Asakusa Ekimae

The room was typical Tokyo size, not large, but the bed was comfortable and it had the basics we needed. The bathroom and toilet were well maintained and looked new, and the overall cleanliness was pretty good. The towel smelled, though, and the comforter had a slight odor. Apart from that, it worked well for a short Tokyo stay. We chose the hotel for its location and easy trip to Narita Airport. It’s right in front of the station at Exit A1, which is stairs only. With our big suitcases, we used the elevator at Exit A2, crossed the street, and reached the hotel easily. Senso-Ji Temple and Nakamise-dori Street are less than a ten-minute walk away. The staff were polite, and being able to store our luggage was convenient.

The rooms are way too small, and there’s barely any reception area. APA’s one real selling point is location, it’s very accessible. Treat it as a business hotel for quick in-and-out stays. Don’t plan a vacation here, even if you expect to be out traveling most of the day. Fantastic locations, terrible rooms.

The location is the best part: there’s a train exit right out front and a convenience store next door for quick errands. I was worried about handling three pieces of luggage, but the staff were great and showed me the easiest route for checkout. The hotel is thoughtfully laid out with the essentials, and it made a good place to reset after exploring. Expect a tight squeeze if you’re used to big hotels, though that’s normal for budget stays in Tokyo.

The express checkout saved a lot of time, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. They changed the towels and yukata daily. Asakusa 18 train station was just a short walk away, and the location was excellent. A great stay for solo travelers or couples, and I’d highly recommend it to first-timers.
