APA Hotel Asakusa Kuramae Kita

The corner view room was spacious, relatively quiet, and had a fantastic view of Tokyo Skytree. Service was good, and the typical APA standards were there. It’s about five minutes from nearby stations, with direct subway access to the airports, and famous, popular cafes close by. I paid a reasonable 13,000¥ for Friday, breakfast included. Breakfast costs 2000¥ and is served at another APA hotel 100 meters away. The food there was good in quality and quantity, but the place was too small and very crowded. My rating for service is only two because of what happened at 7:00am. Five Chinese staff members got into the elevator from the second floor as I was returning to my room on the 14th floor from the first-floor entrance. They seemed to be cleaning staff, spoke Chinese, and one pressed floors 4, 5, 6, 7, and 11. I had to stop at all of them. No one greeted me or apologized. I believe Japanese staff would let a customer have the elevator. This is Japan, not China. They started cleaning early, and equipment and amenities were left all over the floor where guests could see them on the way to checkout. It was a very bad experience. Does the woman wearing a hat know this is happening?

The staff were super polite, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. They’re tiny, as is common in Tokyo, but well equipped and furnished. Our small room had a large TV, a reasonably comfortable queen bed, and a bathroom with plenty of amenities. For the price, it’s great value. Asakusa station is about a three-minute walk away, with excellent connections across Tokyo. Sensoji shrine is around seven minutes on foot. I’d highly recommend it if you want clean, functional accommodation.

There’s a little convenience corner with drinks, umbrellas, ramen, and snacks, plus a microwave. The building also has a smoking room and laundry machines. The washer and dryer take 100-yen coins only: washing costs 500 yen, and drying is 100 yen for each 30 minutes. In the room, I had a boiler, hair dryer, razor, toothbrush and toothpaste, air conditioning, a bidet toilet, and a few other amenities I can’t remember. The cleaners come every three days to clean and change the sheets. APA Hotel always delivers for me, and the service and rooms are amazing.

The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet, and my room was clean and comfortable after busy days out. The hotel is also handy for longer stays, with a coin laundromat and an Anytime Fitness just a two-minute walk away. There’s an Aeon supermarket nearby for snacks and daily essentials, and the train station is a short walk away, making it easy to get around. Check-in was quick on the self-service machine after scanning my passport. The staff were polite, friendly, and ready to help. I had a wonderful stay at APA Hotel (Asakusa Kuramae Kita), and would happily come back.
