APA Hotel Kodemmacho Ekimae

The area around Kodemmacho-Ekimae is quiet, with local restaurants, popular Japanese chains, vending machines, and the big three convenience stores. Two stations are nearby, with Kodemmacho [Hibiya Line] the closest. At times I could hear people outside my room or near the laundry and vending machine area, but it eventually quieted down and wasn't a big problem. I was a little worried by some Google reviews before arriving, but ended up impressed. I was on the second floor and only had to wait for the elevator once or twice. I got on quickly, though that may vary. The staff were attentive and friendly, bowing and wishing me a good day as I left, then welcoming me back. The room size worked for me as a solo traveler, even with my larger American build, though I'd probably feel cramped with family. The bathroom was tight, but I wasn't spending all day in there. Japanese budget hotel rooms are typically this size, rather than like a Hilton or Ritz in the United States, and I think tourists should keep local prices and living norms in mind. I'm easy to please, and the simple, cheap bed in one of the world's largest cities met my needs. I'd recommend it for solo travelers or anyone comfortable with the quirks of Japanese hotels.
