APA Hotel Tokyo Ojima

I usually stay at APA hotels when I visit Japan, but this one was a bit too far from the areas I tend to go to. My ninth-floor room wasn't very soundproof. I could hear people in the hallway, the vending machine, cars outside, and people talking on the sidewalk. One day the cleaner still hadn't finished by 17:00, so I had to wait another hour.

The staff are very polite, and although this isn't one of the newer apa hotels, the rooms and beds are bigger than usual. The beds are fine, the TV is about 43 inches, and the bath is larger too. Service varies by day, but you can request service using the sign on the door. They leave fresh towels and a few amenities every day. It's about three blocks from the Shinjuku metro line, making it easy to get to akihabara or shinjuku. There's also an amazing pizzeria in the same place, with affordable prices. Great after a day of walking.

They cancelled our room without giving a reason. We'd prepaid for the booking for the 22nd of oct 25th and had plenty of money on the credit card, and they sent a refund. They didn't explain anything, and it was extremely hard to reach them. No reply to our email. Avoid this hotel.

It's a quiet suburb with lots of shops and places to eat, and the location is great. There are two stations nearby. Sumiyoshi station is small but well connected. Rooms are standard Tokyo size, and there's a pizza restaurant on the ground floor. I've booked again.
