Sanco Inn Grande Tokyo Hamamatsucho

There’s a 7-11 right across the street and a FamilyMart nearby. The hotel has the basic amenities, plus a few extras on the first floor. They’ll hold luggage for more than seven days for a fee, which could be handy if you’re returning to Tokyo after a trip to somewhere like Kyoto. Grab some bath salts and take a long soak. Your feet will probably thank you.

For the price, I’m not sure I’ve stayed somewhere better. It’s in central Tokyo, where the mono-rail ends at the station, and other underground stations are just a short walk away, taking you pretty much everywhere. The room wasn’t especially large, but it was laid out well. There was a shower and a small bath, plus great AC, an advanced toilet seat, and phone chargers. Breakfast may not suit what you’re used to, so I’d probably eat elsewhere. Apart from that, it was A1. Bravo!

The hotel is right by Hamamatsucho Station, with a back entrance facing the station. Staff could speak English and helped me check in. The room was bigger than I expected, and I had a great stay. I’d come back on my next trip to Tokyo.

The location worked really well, and the room was nice. I also appreciated the little amenities bar, especially the bath salts and face masks after a long, drying flight, even if they weren't the best quality. Smoking nearby was awkward: there isn't a spot close to the hotel, and the designated place by the station is about 400 meters away. I tried the back entrance, but it just opens onto an empty parking area, so the receptionist came out and pointed me to the station. They do have smoking rooms, but I don't like smoking where I sleep. The staff's English was pretty broken, though they did try.
