Cerezo Hotel

I'm here for four days and three nights, and the room's strong smoke smell is unbearable. I asked to move out of the smoking room, but the staff member said that wasn't possible unless I paid extra. The room is also right in front of the railway tracks, and the noise makes it impossible to sleep. The pictures and information were misleading. For the amount we're paying, this isn't acceptable.

We had to leave as soon as we arrived and book another hotel. The hallway was dusty and smelled strongly of chemicals because Hotel Cerezo was being renovated. We'd only been given a vague warning about the work, and the conditions felt unhealthy and impossible to stay in. The photos online don't show what we found. We booked through Agoda for Feb 25, 2025. The front desk didn't help, so because of the language barrier we had to contact our agent, Agoda. The hotel said it would refund us, but then refused to pay us back. Agoda covered the refund instead. I don't think the hotel stood behind its service. This was unacceptable for any traveler and especially disappointing in Japan, where hospitality standards are usually high. Travelers have other accommodation options in the area, so beware.

The hotel is right by the train tracks, so I wore earplugs to sleep. Otherwise, it seemed fine as a first stop after arriving in Japan. I walked over from Nippori in about ten minutes after taking the Skyliner from Narita. Check-in was done at a lobby machine and went smoothly.

I liked the breakfast buffet, which had Japanese and Western options. It costs 600 yen per person if it isn't included in the room rate. There are a microwave and ice maker outside the room, too. We took the Skyliner to Nippori Station and walked to the property, which is between Nippori and Uguisudani stations. The location is very good, though there are a lot of love hotels nearby. The room was okay, but cleanliness could be better. It was a good stay for the price.
