That sunny, open view of Tokyo Skytree from my window was a highlight. The ninth-floor rooftop is even closer to the 634m tower and looks out over the Sumida River. There’s also a laundry room on the top floor, and card-key access adds security. I found the hotel about a 10-minute walk from Asakusa Station, with illuminated bridges nearby, including historic Azumabashi. My Landmark View double room was only 10m², so opening a large suitcase on the floor was a challenge and I had to use the bed. Still, it was well laid out and impressively soundproofed. The ceiling projector in every room can show YouTube or mirror a smartphone onto a huge screen. The hotel has a striking “Asakusa Red” exterior and a lively first-floor lounge that becomes a DJ music bar on weekends. Check-in came with a welcome gift, a mysterious sweet-scented hand cream. The stay was around $65. For seafood “bubble rolls,” I recommend “Asakusa ASA Tora,” ranked #1 on Tabelog in the area. “Ume to Hoshi” on Denpoin Street is a must-try for traditional Japanese breakfast, with pot-cooked rice and various pickled plums[cite: 934, 936]. It’s a good fit for travelers who like music, views, and modern vibes. For a closer look at the room and its size, my 4K review is on YouTube. Search: SUKIYAKI TRAVEL JAPAN.

Small rooms, but they had what I needed. There was a smell when I first walked in, though it faded quickly. The location was the real standout: the rooftop view across the river to SkyTree, with the metropolitan causeway alongside it, was amazing. If I come back to Asakusa to visit family, I'd stay here again.

I spent six days here and think I made a good choice. I liked the neighborhood, and the staff were nice and helpful. The room was clean and not too small, with free amenities and drinks including coffee, tea, and water. The rooftop view was great, and there was also a small smoking area.

The room was compact, but just right for me as a solo traveler, and I could see Tokyo sky tree from it, which was beautiful. There’s also a rooftop with a great view. It’s near the sumide river and sensoji temple, though the station takes a bit more walking. The room was clean, and I’d give the bathroom 5 stars. The water temperature wasn’t too cold or too hot. Overall, it was better than I expected.

We should have paid more and picked another hotel. This was the worst value for money place we've ever stayed in. The twin room was so hard to live in for more than one night that I think some of them should be adult bunk rooms. We were there while the hotel was nearly full, probably because of the lower prices. The reception staff must hear lots of complaints, but the room layout is the issue, not the ladies at the desk. Their help was lovely throughout, and none of my criticism is about them. Suz mentioned the firm beds and pillows to the girls, and they immediately brought a mattress topper and two extra pillows. The ladies at reception were also so respectful and helpful when they printed our bullet train QR codes. The rooms are VERY small, with no storage and hardly anywhere to hang or put things. The twin room would be okay for one person, but not a couple. Our room had a tiny window that made it feel claustrophobic. The badly fitted blind let in full daylight as soon as the sun came up, so I put a pillow in the window to keep it dark. The bedroom mirror was a bathroom mirror with lights that stayed on, and I had to cover them with cardboard. There was also a ridiculous handwashing sink above the toilet. The sink in the bedroom had no temperature control, even though it's the one for brushing your teeth and washing your face. There was no kettle, and you had to carry coffee up in the lift with no lids supplied. The beds and pillows were very firm. We were in room 602, which seemed to be the smallest from what I could tell by looking at other reviews and photos. I wish we'd asked to move or paid to upgrade. There were some good points: we paid £68 a night for three nights, and the hotel is in the cheaper bracket for the area. The staff were lovely, the shower was powerful, and there are washing machines and drying facilities. The rooftop smoking area has decent views. There’s a bar with DJ music at night. The projector in the room felt gimmicky. We couldn't get it working in English or get it to recognize our Netflix account. Check-in at 4pm and checkout at 10am was inconvenient and definitely not industry standard.
