We chose this place because it was good value for a group of four and had four beds, so it felt a bit like home. There was decent space, a small kitchen area, two toilets, and a separate bath. Plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so food wasn’t a problem. Shin Nakano station was close, around 5-10 minutes from Shinjuku. The stairs are very steep, which was tough with our big luggage. It’s an unmanned hotel with no staff to help, and there’s nowhere to leave your bags if you want to explore after checking out.

Being near Shin-Nakano station was convenient, and there were several restaurants close by. The room itself, though, was disappointing. It wasn’t clean and had a lingering cigarette smell. The sofa bed was especially awful, with several stains on it and on the floor around it. There were no sheets or blankets for it, and when I asked for sheets, I got no reply. There was dust in the A/C and around the room, too. I have no idea when it was last cleaned. I won’t consider this hotel for another stay.

Great location. Fine for a short stay, but there’s no service or cleaning.

The stairs can be a tiring climb if you’re carrying a large suitcase, so that’s why I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, I don’t really see what’s wrong with this place despite the bad reviews. I prefer not having staff come into my room every day to clean it. The accommodation was spacious and had what I needed for my time in Tokyo, including three decent beds, a bathroom and shower of its own, plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and a hairdryer. There’s also a washing machine if needed. It’s close to the subway, and Nakano is a lovely neighborhood to explore on foot.

Good for families. The system is unmanned.
