Dormy Inn Korakuen Hot Springs

Our first stay with the Dormy inn chain lived up to the good things I'd heard. The room was big enough for three, and they left water and a fridge with peach jellies, which were delicious. We didn't use the in-room shower, hair dryer, or amenities since we went to the onsen every day. It had different setups for men and women: hot and cold water plus a dry sauna for men, hot and warm water and a wet sauna for women. Bring a water bottle if you plan to use the sauna, but leave it in the locker by the changing rooms. You can only take a towel inside to dry yourself at the end. Shower thoroughly before bathing. Tattoos aren't allowed, though reception can provide something to cover them if you ask. I didn't need it, so I can't say much about that. I'd try their other locations if I get the chance.

Our corner twin was the biggest room on the floor, with two really nice double beds and water provided. For the price, it felt insanely worth it, and the staff were incredibly kind and friendly. Parking isn't on site, so you'll need to use a local parking lot. They had the usual Dormy Inn amenities: toothbrushes at the counter, yakult in the morning, ice cream at night, yonakisoba, hot spring, and more. Laundry was excellent during our stay. Washing machines were free, while dryers cost 100 yen per 30 minutes. I tried breakfast on the 3rd day. It was pretty ordinary, like the standard hotel breakfast you'd see elsewhere.

The staff are the gems here. Breakfast was great quality, and there are lots of lovely, even cute amenities, like the public bath, free ice cream, and midnight ramen. I love this hotel and will definitely come back.

Dormy inn Korakuen's hot spring was a great facility, and the hotel serves simple free ramen every night. Breakfast had lots of choices and was a great experience. Cross the street and there's a supermarket for anything you need. The location is one of the best in Tokyo, near Tokyo Dome and Korakuen, and about a 13 mins walk to the Tokyo university.
