Dormy Inn Premium Ginza Hot Springs

After long days of walking, soaking in the onsen was amazing. My husband has tattoos, and the staff happily gave us stickers to cover them so he could enjoy it too. They serve free ramen every night at 9:30pm, and it was DELICIOUS 😋. This was my first hotel on my very first trip to Japan, and I couldn't have been more impressed. The staff were lovely and accommodating, the room was neat and clean, and the amenities were wonderful. My only complaint is that the pillows felt a little firm to me. With that as the one downside, the place felt practically perfect. Absolutely recommend this gem.

The location, price, and staff are all great, but be aware of the strict no tattoo rule at the onsen. I visited different onsens all over rural Kyushu and nobody cared, but here in the very international Ginza district they enforce it. They do have tattoo covers for small tattoos. With a sleeve or something similar, though, the hassle isn't worth it since applying and removing the covers would take more time than you'd spend in the onsen.

The walk to an easy-to-use subway station takes about five minutes, and the complimentary late-night noodle soup was a lovely touch. The room had plenty of space for me and two large suitcases, and the hotel was spotless apart from some worn patches on the hallway carpets. The onsen, cold bath, and sauna were nice. The staff were amazingly supportive. Dormy is a solid choice.

The spa was a real highlight for me. It was clean, comfortable, and felt safe, with books and drinks available. I tried the sauna at 90°C, much hotter than the 45°C saunas I’d been to before, then went to the onsen and cold bath. It was my first onsen experience, and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t use the bathroom in my room because I could shower at the spa. The room was comfortable, clean, and had enough space for clothes, shoes, and a jacket. The hotel is close to the subway, with plenty of shops around.
