Hanare

We only booked one night at hanare, and quickly wished we’d planned a longer stay. Momo and Nana made us feel so welcome. We arrived late, but Momo stayed up to greet us and help us get settled. The handwritten notes, locally made items, and map full of useful neighborhood suggestions all felt thoughtful. Our room was simple and spotless, with comfortable tatami beds, lovely woodwork, and beautiful windows. Taito city was such a peaceful place to explore. We wandered the quiet streets, stopping for udon and coffee, browsing shops, and visiting lovely shrines. We also had a special traditional Japanese breakfast at Hagiso, a beautiful spot with lots of thoughtful details. You’ve made a creative, peaceful, beautiful place, Momo and Nana. We can’t wait to return to Tokyo and stay again. 🙏

We had such a warm welcome from our receptionist, Mahiro. Thank you! 💖 The house is 60 years old and full of charm, and we enjoyed the neighborhood for walks both day and night. Nippori station is about a seven-minute walk away. It’s a handy spot for taking the Yamanote line or the skyliner to Narita airport, and we also used it to travel to Nagano.

Nana kindly took me on a short walk around the area, even though I was the only guest who asked. The staff were thoughtful throughout my stay, and breakfast was incredible. Mine was a meal from the Goto Islands. I stayed in the Niwa Room, which was absolutely charming, and the hotel was quiet and peaceful. I visited in February 2026.

The neighborhood was lovely, and we really enjoyed the delicious breakfast. Nana gave us such a warm welcome, and we’ll recommend the hotel to friends and come back ourselves. We slept soundly in the old wooden building, even though sounds can travel quickly through it. Earplugs are provided in every room for anyone who’s a light sleeper. The rooms were comfortable, with clean, simple design, and the hotel paid attention to small things, like sento tickets and kits and an easy system for booking showers during busy mornings. The shower pressure was great, too.
