Henn na Hotel Tokyo Haneda

We needed a cheap place for the night before an early flight, and this was good enough. It’s a short bus or train ride to the airport. I skipped the transfer bus because it only came once an hour and walked to the train station instead. We arrived early with our toddler and left our bags in the free lobby lockers. Check-in was a headache: the automated screens didn’t seem to work for most people, so staff had to check us in manually. It took about 30 minutes. The room was small but adequate, much like I’d expect at an APA hotel. The bath was fine for one person, though bathing my toddler in it was tricky. The firm bed was comfortable. There was also an LG Styler for sanitizing clothes, which we didn’t use but might be handy for some travelers. Food and drink vending machines are there, breakfast is offered, and plenty of restaurants are nearby.

The lobby is really unique, and the rooms were fine, though a little small, which seems pretty usual in Japan. It’s close to the airport, so it works nicely for a layover.

For a quick Tokyo layover near the airport, the rooms and service are fine for the price. Book early. The hotel is popular with foreigners, and the chain’s odd brand tie-ins and robot staff are worth a look, but I wouldn’t choose it for a long stay given the quality and the area. Staff are close by if needed and are naturally decent at English, despite the hotel’s automated setup. Don’t count on the Haneda shuttle if timing matters. I took the earliest one, at 4:45 AM on a winter weekday, and it was full. Otorii station is a five-minute walk and a reasonable backup. It’d be good if the hotel could arrange overflow with Uber or another taxi service and cover the cost.

There are lots of local shops and a big supermarket only two minutes away, and Otorii Station is nearby if you need last-minute shopping. The room was clean and had all the basics. Get in the shuttle line at least 30 minutes early because it fills up fast. I’d stay here again.
