Hilton Tokyo Odaiba

The view from the surrounding area was amazing, but my room view was bland. Most staff were friendly, though some laughed at me in the elevator and I’m not sure why. The hotel was renovating the second floor, which made the amenities disappointing. I couldn’t find the pool, spa, or restaurants because they required a completely different elevator, and no one explained that clearly, so I had to wander around. For the price, the stay wasn’t worth it: the renovation left the hotel lackluster, service was lacking, and some staff seemed judgmental, as if they thought I couldn’t understand what they were saying. I still treated everyone with great courtesy and respect.

Odaiba gets packed when locals come for a nearby getaway, so I’d avoid weekends and Japanese public holidays and visit during the week instead. At those busy times, the mix of guests changes and service drops noticeably. The location itself is great, but with renovations underway, the inconvenience makes the price feel too high. The lounge during Japan’s long holiday was crowded with families and felt like a festival, a poor fit if you want a quiet, grown-up atmosphere. It could work well for people traveling with young children. For a more sophisticated setting, I’d suggest Hilton Tokyo or Conrad. The breakfast room is dark and windowless, and the food is basic, with no standout must-try dish. I hope things improve once the renovations are finished.

The room had a beautiful view, and the hotel atmosphere was lovely during my stay over the very busy New Year period. One disappointment was check-in at the Executive Lounge: we sat there for about an hour while reception staff seemed not to notice us and kept chatting among themselves. It left us feeling overlooked. When we went back to the bell desk, Rama san kindly took over, completed everything efficiently, and treated us with genuine care. His calm, professional help changed the experience and let us relax for the rest of our stay. Rama san’s hospitality really stood out in such a busy season, and he made our visit memorable.

We came back to Hilton Odaiba because we enjoyed our first visit so much. This time, though, DHO greeted us in a way that felt unwelcoming and didn’t make much effort to explain important information. I don’t know why, perhaps she was having a difficult day. We hope it was a one-time experience, since we’d like to return in the future.
