Hostel Asakusa Wasabi

The facilities were among the cleanest I’ve ever come across, and the staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Check-in at 3 pm is quite late, while check-out at 10 am is early, so it may not suit you if you want to sleep in. It’s also a bit of a walk from either Minowa or Asakusa metro stations, around 16-20 minutes.

The common area was beautifully designed and comfortable, and the bed and bathroom were clean. Staff were kind and helpful. I appreciated being able to store my luggage for 500 yen per day, which made traveling around Japan afterward much easier. The nearest metro station is only a 15-minute walk, so the location was convenient. I was very happy with my stay and would come back.

The price was good, and I thought the location was decent. But the dorms were almost unbearably hot, and the mattress was so thin that I didn’t sleep well.

It’s a quiet neighborhood with a 7-11 next door, free water, and an inexpensive breakfast buffet. The first floor has a large communal area, and most other amenities can be purchased. Staff were thorough, friendly, and multilingual, explained the rules and options clearly, and could handle late check-in. On the downside, it’s about 15 minutes from a subway station, and checking in four people took 30 minutes without a break.
